Football Clubs in Maryland



Maryland's only professional football team was the Baltimore Colts. They won the Super Bowl in 1971, and moved to Indianapolis in March 1984.
Maryland-born, Doug Flutie, won the Heisman Trophy while playing for Boston College in 1984.
The University of Maryland won the national championship in college football in 1953.
The Colt's player Johnny Unitas, won the Most Valuable player-Jim Thorpe Trophy in both 1957 and 1967.
