The State House was built in 1792 and was the state capitol until 1933. During those years the State House has undergone many structural and stylistic changes that altered its original 18th century appearance.

The 436th Airlift Wing ("Eagle Wing") and the 512th Airlift Wing ("Liberty Wing") are located at this base. Base tours are on a limited basis due to our manning, resource availability and heightened security measures, but tours are usually on Wednesday and Thursdays. The Air Mobility Command Museum houses a growing collection of vintage planes and artifacts showing the history of Dover AFB since its beginnings in 1941.
